With the Lomond we took a traditional 8 piece Newsboy design and paired it with the world's finest tweeds. Then we added a quilted satin lining to make this modern day wardrobe staple. As with all real Newsboy caps the Lomond has a generous cut with plenty of fabric to ensure a comfy fit that can easily be worn all day.
Named after Scotland's most beautiful Loch (at least in our view), the "Lomond" is a baggy Newsboy (sometimes called a Baker boy) cap. Popularised during the 1800's in England and Scotland as the working man's cap, the Newsboy acquired it's name in the early 1900's when it became the cap of choice for young newspaper sellers in the USA.
The cap is sewn to the longer than normal bill to ensure a snug fit that has been designed for the worst of Scottish or Irish weather. The 7cm (2 & 3/4 inch) peak offers more protection than most flat caps for your eyes - whatever weather the city or country throws at you. The unique slightly lower cut of the Lomond helps to ensure a great fit.
Our Harris Tweed is sourced from traditional producers in the Scottish Outer Hebrides. Woven on treadle-powered looms, every inch of the fabric is dyed, spun and woven on these remote islands using skills passed down the generations. These techniques are low impact and only use natural raw materials.
Each of our caps carries a certification "orb" label from the Harris Tweed Authority so you can be assured this is the genuine article.
Wool has made a real resurgence in recent years due to it's wonderful natural properties. Warm in winter and breathable in summer, 100% wool fabrics are far superior to cheaper polyester or wool mix materials. That's why we choose to only use pure wool tweeds in our ranges of Harris and Irish tweed caps.
The Lomond is one of our most popular caps - try it today to see why!

How to find the right size Panama hat for you
If you are not sure what your hat size is, please follow these simple instructions to find your size.
Measure your head at the level you would want the hat to sit when you are wearing it. This can vary a little according to your personal preference, but normally it would be across the middle of the forehead, pass a thumb’s width above your ears and around the widest part of the back of your head. Use a tape measure or a piece of string to find your size in centimetres.
Once you have the measurement in centimetres, this should be the hat size for you. You may wish to move up or down one size if you like a particularly loose or tight fit.
If you know your hat size in a different measuring system, please use the following conversion chart to convert it to our sizing.
